The Miami football team has had mixed success from its offensive transfers in 2023. Center Matt Lee was named second-team All-ACC after transferring from Central Florida and former Alabama guard Javion Cohen earned honorable mention All-Conference. Cohen and Lee helped solidify the Miami offensive line.

Per David Lake of Inside the U Lee was the eighth highest-graded player on the 2023 Miami roster by Pro Football Focus. Lee received an overall grade of 76.5 with an 89.1 pass-blocking grade and 70.3 on running blocking. Cohen was an anchor for Miami on the left side of the OL.

The other four transfers added to the 2023 Miami football roster on offense were center Luis Cristobal, running back Ajay Allen, tight end Cameron McCormick and wide receiver Tyler Harrell. Cristobal who is the nephew of head coach Mario Cristobal received minimal snaps this season.

Allen and McCormick have been the biggest contributors. Allen is Miami’s fourth-leading rusher with 67 carries for 350 yards and five touchdowns and has added four receptions for nine yards. In five games this season, Allen had at least 47 yards rushing. Allen closed the season strong with nine carries for 68 yards and a TD.

McCormick has been the primary TE for Miami this season. McCormick played a key role as a blocker for Miami in 2023. Miami improved to 176.75 rushing yards per game in 2023 from 128.33 in 2022. McCormick has the option of returning for a ninth season of college football in 2024.

Harrell transferred to Miami from Alabama during the 2023 offseason. Before Alabama, Harrell spent four seasons at Louisville. Harrell was expected to provide Miami with a deep threat in the passing game. As the fifth WR in the Miami rotation, Harrell finished with four receptions for 45 yards and one carry for seven yards.

Quarterback, depth on the OL and potentially another TE are likely to be the priority for Miami in the 2024 transfer portal. Miami is deep at RB with Allen, true freshman Mark Fletcher and Chris Johnson and redshirt junior Henry Parrish returning in 2024. Miami should return Jacolby George, Xavier Restrepo and Colbie Young at WR.
