McCord waited his turn at Ohio State before becoming their starting QB in his third season as a true junior in 2023. Starting all 12 games in 2023, McCord completed 65.8 percent of his pass attempts for 3,170 yards, 24 touchdowns and six interceptions. A true pro-style QB, McCord is not a threat as a runner.

McCord has proven he will take care of the ball. The Miami football team ranked 104th nationally in 2023 with the Hurricanes’ QBs throwing 13 interceptions. Ohio State was 22nd nationally as a team throwing seven interceptions. Miami needs to significantly reduce its turnovers in 2024. That begins with the QB.

Dante Moore is a former five-star QB who signed with UCLA out of Detroit in the 2023 class. Moore completed 53.5 percent of his passes for 1,610 yards, 11 TDs and nine interceptions in 2023. Moore was not a threat as a runner in 2023. Developing his accuracy and cutting down on turnovers will be critical for Moore.

Miami reportedly is looking for an experienced QB to play in 2023 while Brown (if he stays at Miami) and Williams develop. Moore has three years of eligibility remaining. Some reports have stated that Moore is more interested in Miami than the Hurricanes are in him. Miami recruited Moore strongly out of high school.
