Stevens began his high school football career at St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, a program known for producing talent. As a freshman in 2023, he tallied 23 receptions for 267 yards and one touchdown. Stevens improved his sophomore season to 44 catches for 550 yards and eight touchdowns. His performance last season helped St. Thomas Aquinas win a state championship.
"I just been liking Miami since I was a little kid," Stevens said to Gabby Urruita of Inside the U. "I always used to watch the football games with Miami when I was little, wear all the equipment since I was little. When I been growing up, watching Miami even more build and grow better here, I just felt like that was something I wanted to be a part of." Urruita also reported that Stevens said that he ran a 10.8 in the 100-meter and a 4.39 in the 40-yard dash.
Stevens committed to the Miami Hurricanes on January 13, becoming the program's first commit in the 2027 recruiting class. His decision was influenced by a strong connection with Miami's coaching staff, particularly wide receivers coach Kevin Beard. Stevens chose Miami over offers from prominent programs, including Florida State.
CB Kenton Dopson from Miami Northland is the only other commit in the class of 2027 for the Miami Hurricanes. Continuing to keep local talent in South Florida will always be a point of emphasis for the program and Mario Cristobal.
