3 Key Miami Starters on Game Day Student-Athlete Availability Report (Updated: WR CJ Daniels OUT)

Miami cornerback O.J. Frederique is out and defensive lineman Ahmad Moten and wide receiver C.J. Daniels were added to the ACC Game Day Student-Athlete Availability Reporting Update. Backup linebacker Malik Bryant is also out for Miami.

With Frederique out, Damari Brown and Ethan O'Connor will likely receive the majority of those snaps at CB. Pro Football Focus via David Lake of Inside the U, observed Frederique allowing 10 receptions for 168 yards and one touchdown on 21 targets in 2025.

Moten has 16 tackles, 3.0 tackles for loss, 1.0 sack and per PFF via Lake, 17 pressures in 2025. If Moten does not play, Armondo Blount and Justin Scott are likely to see the greatest increase in snaps. Blount has 8.0 tackles, 1.5 TFLs, 1.5 sacks and 1.0 fumble recovery in 2025. Scott has 4.0 2025 tackles.

Daniels is second on Miami with 33 receptions for 351 yards and leads the Hurricanes with six TD catches. Tony Johnson, Keelan Marion and true freshman Joshua Moore will receive more snaps if Daniels does not play. Per Lake, Daniels played a season low 43 snaps against an FBS opponent versus Stanford.

Johnson had his Miami best three receptions for 69 yards versus Stanford. Moore has 10 receptions for 114 yards and two TDs and Marion has 18 catches for 176 yards in 2025. SMU has the second-worst pass defense nationally, allowing 303.5 yards per game.

SMU co-starting CB Jaelyn Davis-Robinson is out. Former Miami running back C.J. Johnson, edge rusher Cameron Robertson and starting tight end Matthew Hibner are game-time decisions on the Game Day Student-Athlete Availability Reporting Update for the Mustangs.

Miami at SMU will kick off at Noon Eastern Daylight Time on ESPN. The FanDuel Sportsbook has Miami as a 10.5-point favorite. The update on the game time decisions will be announced close to kick-off of Miami at SMU.
