Defensive lineman Rueben Bain received two national honors and running back Mark Fletcher Jr. and left guard Matthew McCoy were named to the ACC Week Four Team of the Week by Pro Football Focus following their performances in the 26-7 Miami win over Florida on Saturday.
Bain was named the Pro Football Focus Defensive Player of the Week, the Pass Rusher of the Week and to their National Team of the Week for Week Four. Bain had a 92.4 pass rush grade, 10 pressures, seven tackles, 1.0 tackle for loss, 0.5 sack and one quarterback hit against Florida.
McCoy earned a 70.7 overall grade, 84.6 pass blocking grade and 68.5 run blocking grade from PFF without allowing a pressure or sack in 58 snaps, according to David Lake of Inside the U. McCoy helped Miami gain 184 rushing and 160 passing in the win over Florida.
Fletcher Jr. had 24 carries for 116 yards and a touchdown against Florida. Per PFF via Lake, Fletcher Jr. averaged 3.04 yards after contact and forced two missed tackles. Fletcher Jr. had an 82.6 pass blocking grade per Lake and had four runs of 10 yards or more.

Bain dominated once again, earning a 92.4 PFF pass-rush grade against Florida. From 29 pass-rushing snaps, he racked up an incredible 10 pressures on a 44.8% pass-rush win rate."
Bain was the top graded Miami player by PFF versus Florida, according to Lake. Max Chadwick of PFF stated Bain is the top-graded player nationally on their review of the Florida game. Chadwick and co-host Dalton Wasserman stated if the Heisman Trophy is truly for the best player in college football, then Bain would win.
Wasserman stated at the very least, Bain should sweep the national defensive linemen of the year awards. Bain was a Freshman All-American in 2023 and is trending to earn a spot on the overall team in 2025. Bain and Akheem Mesidor have anchored the Miami defensive line which Chadwick called the best unit in college football.
