Miami will be without starting cornerback O.J. Frederique, leading rusher Mark Fletcher Jr. and second leading receiver C.J. Daniels on Saturday versus Syracuse. Defensive tackle Ahmad Moten and linebacker Wesley Bissainthe are questionable versus Syracuse on Saturday.
Reserve WR Emanuel Ross and backup left tackle Joshua Miller are two of the 12 players who are out on the Friday ACC Student-Athlete Availability Reporting update against Miami. Ross has 10 receptions for 110 yards and one touchdown in 2025. Miller has appeared in six 2025 games.
Fletcher was injured at the end of the SMU game last week. Daniels, Frederique and Moten missed the game against SMU. Reserve WR Tony Johnson is one of six other players on the Friday Student-Athlete Availability Reporting update who are out for Miami.
Damari Brown and Ethan O'Connor are likely to receive the most significant increase in snaps at CB with Frederique out. CharMar Brown and Jordan Lyle will share carries at RB, with true Freshman Girard Pringle potentially getting carries late if the outcome is decided.

With Daniels and Johnson out, JoJo Trader should see a significant amount of targets for the second consecutive game. Trader had five receptions on six targets for 81 yards and a touchdown versus SMU. Keelan Marion had five receptions on six targets for 77 yards versus SMU and will likely be the third starting Miami WR versus Syracuse.
Donta Simpson was the primary backup to David Blay and Justin Scott at DT versus SMU. Bissainthe excited the game early against SMU. Raul Aguirre and Mohamed Toure played most of the snaps, with Chase Smith receiving limited playing time.
Defensive lineman Denis Jaquez Jr., center Austin Collins and left guard T.J. Ferguson are starters and backup left tackle Naquil Betrand are among the players questionable for Syracuse against Miami. Jaquez Jr. has 20 tackles, 3.0 TFLs and 1.0 sack in 2025.
Miami has more depth in general than Syracuse in general. The Hurricanes appear to be healthier than the Orange. The 3:30 PM Eastern Standard Time kickoff should also help Miami with the temperature forecast for 86 degrees at 3:00 PM EST.
