Five-star Miami Hurricanes signee Hayden Lowe, who is the No. 16 player in the 2025 class, second-ranked edge-rusher and No. 2 prospect in California in the 247Sports rankings, looks like he is ready to participate in the NFL Combine this weekend, not his status as an incoming freshman, after Gaby Urrutia of Inside the U posted pictures of him.

Lowe finished his high school career at Oaks Christian in Westlake with 159 tackles, 42.0 tackles for loss, 24.5 sacks, 29 quarterback hurries, two interceptions, four passes defended, one fumble recovery and five forced fumbles.

Lowe is the highest-ranked 2025 Miami signee and the only one in the top 100 players by 247Sports in the Hurricanes class. At 6'4.5 and 250 pounds, Lowe could be ready to contribute as a freshman. Rueben Bain was the 2023 ACC Defensive Player of the Year as an edge-rusher for Miami.

Miami loses Tyler Baron, but returns Bain and Akheem Mesidor at edge-rusher in 2025. Lowe will compete with 2024 signees Armondo Blount, Marquise Lightfoot, Cole McConathy, Booker Pickett Jr. and Elijah Rudolph for snaps at edge-rusher behind Bain and Mesidor. He already looks the part, which you can tell from the photos below:

The comp for Lowe by Andrew Ivins, the 247Sports Director of Scouting, is Kayvon Thibodeaux of the New York Giants, who is also an Oaks Christian alum and played for Cristobal at Oregon. Thibodeaux was the fifth pick in the 2022 NFL Draft. In three seasons at Oregon, Thibodeau had 126 tackles, 34 TFLs, 19.0 sacks, 7.0 passes defended and three forced fumbles.

Expect Lowe to become even more developed physically after working with Miami Strength and Conditioning Coordinator Aaron Feld, who was also on the Oregon staff under Cristobal. Lowe should become part of an elite Miami defensive line in the next few seasons with the rising second-year class.
