Rippey, a 6-foot-2, 175-pound floor general hailing from Blair Academy (N.J.) and the New Heights AAU program, is widely regarded as the No. 2 point guard and a top-20 player nationally in the 247Sports composite rankings. During a 3SSB live period in late May, he posted averages of 15.6 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 2.0 steals per outing.
Rippey competed on the EYBL circuit this summer, averaging about 15 points, five assists and four rebounds per game. His performance against elite competition, including in the Adidas Eurocamp in Italy and the NBPA Top 100 camp, has earned praise from scouts. According to On3, he’s among the most athletic guards in the 2026 class.
Rippey's father confirmed Kentucky set up a visit for August 1 and Syracuse has scheduled one for late September. Since last season, the Canes have changed their course with the hiring of new head coach Jai Lucas. Lucas is a known recruiter and has brought his expertise in that area to the Hurricanes. Despite Rippey now being from Florida, and Lucas saying that he wanted to put an emphasis on local talent, it seems like Miami may have a real shot. Here is the projected 2025-26 roster for the Hurricanes:
- PG: Tre Donaldson
- SG: Tru Washington
- SF: Shelton Henderson
- PF: Malik Reneau
- C: Ernest Udeh Jr.
- Dante Allen
- Marcus Allen
- Tomotej Malovec
- Jordyn Kee
- Salih Altuntas
- John Laboy II
- Treyvon Maddox
The starting lineup is just a projection and Lucas did say in his introductory press conference that the team would need 13 new players so there still might be one more to come into the fold.
