5-star tight end Ahmad Hudson
As a sophomore in 2024, Hudson caught 41 passes for 718 yards and six touchdowns while helping Ruston reach the Louisiana Division I Non-Select title game, earning All-Ruston Daily Leader Newcomer of the Year honors. Through his junior season he has continued to be a red-zone and big-play focal point, which is part of the reason why 247sports has him rated so high.
Hudson is also a nationally recruited basketball prospect, listed at 6-6 and ranked as a top-25 player in the 2027 class and a top-three frontcourt prospect by major services. ESPN slots him among the top forwards in the ESPN 60 for his class.
Dual-sport potential is a central piece of his recruitment. Hudson has said that he hopes to play both football and basketball in college, and several staffs are recruiting him in tandem across the two sports.
On the football side, a familiar group of blue bloods has emerged as serious contenders. LSU, Texas A&M, Florida and Nebraska have all been framed as major contenders in recent months. Oregon should also be included on that list after some recent traction. Nebraska, in particular, has generated buzz after multiple visits. He has also camped or visited at Texas A&M, LSU and Texas, among others.
The Miami Hurricanes extended a football offer in mid-August and have Hudson listed among their top 2027 tight end targets, while Miami basketball has also offered him as a front court piece.
