6 Miami players named Pro Football Focus week 11 All-ACC

Pro Football Focus named six Miami players to its week 11 All-ACC team.

Miami Center James Brockermeyer, wide receiver Keelan Marion as a flex, edge rusher Akheem Mesidor, tackle David Blay, designed on the defensive interior, cornerback Ethan O'Connor and defensive back Keionte Scott as a flex were all named week 11 All-ACC by Pro Football Focus.

Brockermeyer was one of four Miami offensive linemen who played all 58 snaps versus Syracuse on Saturday. The most notable play by Brockemeyer against Syracuse was throwing the key block on the touchdown run by Miami right tackle Francis Mauigoa.

Marion caught all three of his targets for 116 yards and a touchdown and added one kickoff return for 22 yards against Syracuse. Pro Football Focus gave Marion a 77.7 grade for his performance against Syracuse. Marion had 89 yards after the catch with all of his targets in the intermediate passing game per PFF via David Lake of Inside the U.

Mesidor had one of the best games of his collegiate career with four tackles, a 3.5 tackles for loss to tie his best ever, 1.5 sacks, one quarterback hurry and a forced fumble. PFF, via Lake, credited Mesidor with five QB pressures, an 87.0 overall grade, an 89.1 run blocking grade and no missed tackles versus Syracuse.

Blay had five tackles and, per PFF via Lake, one pressure and no missed tackles with a 79.8 overall grade, 77.3 run defense grade and 73.7 tackling grade against Syracuse. The five tackles were the second-highest total for Blay with Miami. Blay had six tackles versus Florida.

O'Connor earned an 80.9 overall grade, 81.0 coverage grade and 76.6 tackling grade while not allowing a reception on three targets against Syracuse. O'Connor played 34 snaps with Miami starting CB O.J. Frederique out with an injury.

Scott had one tackle, 1.0 TFL, 1,0 sack, one interception that he returned for a TD and one pass breakup against Syracuse. PFF gave Scott an 80.5 overall grade and 81.3 coverage grade per Lake. Socct was created with two QB pressures, did not miss a tackle and did not allow a reception on one target per PFF via Lake.

Miami was dominant defensively versus Syracuse and scored on five out of its last eight drives. The Hurricanes ended each half of two of the other three drives with one punt. With six players appearing on the PPF week 11 All-ACC team, it was a complete performance and true team win over Syracuse.
