UPDATE: Miami defensive lineman Akheem Mesidor has been ruled out for Miami against Stanford. Mesidor was initially a game-time decision ahead of the ACC matchup. Nine additional Miami players are listed as out versus Stanford.

Mesidor is third on Miami and first among DL with 28 tackles, second with 5.0 tackles for loss and first with 3.5 sacks. Mesidor was seen in a walking boot during practice this week. A foot injury limited Mesidor to three games during the 2023 season.

Expect Armondo Blount, Malik Bryant and Marquise Lightfoot to have increased snaps with Mesidor out. Lightfoot has been the most productive of the three with seven tackles, 2.0 TFLs and one sack. Miami will need production from Blount, Bryant and Lightfoot, with Rueben Bain likely to be double-teamed.

Eighteen players are out for Stanford on the ACC Game Day Student-Athlete Availability Reporting update. Leading rusher Micah Ford and third-leading tackle, safety Jay Green, are the key players out for Stanford on Saturday night.

Stanford cornerback Collin Wright is a game-time decision. Wright has started the last six games for Stanford, is fifth with 23 tackles, has an interception return for a TD and has two passes defended. Wright being out would be significant for a Stanford defense 16th in the ACC, allowing 304.7 passing yards per game.

Quarterback Ben Gulbranson, probable earlier in the week, is not on the Game Time student-Athlete Availability Reporting update. Gulbranson missed the second half of the 20-13 Stanford win over Florida State last week with an injured knee.

Stanford will have their depth significantly tested against Miami. Mesidor is the only key player for Miami who is out on Saturday. Ford and Green being out and Wright as a game-time decision are significant players for Stanford to have to replace versus Miami.
