Miami's offensive line coach Alex Mirabal is seventh nationally and second in the ACC, and defensive line coach Jason Taylor is eighth in the conference among recruiters in the 2026 class. After an exceptional week, Miami has the sixth-ranked 2026 class.
Mirabal has helped Miami gain commitments from three offensive tackles and three interior OL in the 2026 class. Miami has two blue-chip OL committed to the 2026 class. The 2026 Miami class is led by five-star offensive tackle Jackson Cantwell, the consensus overall top prospect nationally.
Miami has one edge rusher and two defensive linemen committed in the 2026 class. Taylor has been a constant for Miami in the 2026 recruiting cycle as the only returning coach to the defensive staff for Miami in 2025. Miami will likely receive commits from other edge rushers and DL in the 2026 class.
The average commit for Mirabal has an 89.97 rating from 247Sports, and he has 68.05 points in the recruiting site's system for the six commits attributed to him. The commitment from Cantwell was polarizing across college football, with speculation it was solely because of NIL money.

In addition to Cantwell, Mirabal is credited with Miami receiving commitments from OTs Ben Congdon and Joel Ervin and IOL Canon Pickett, JJ Sparks, and Rhys Woodrow, in addition to Cantwell on the OL. Congdon is the other Miami blue-chip OL as a four-star prospect.
Commits who Taylor was the primary recruiter for in the 2026 class have an average rating of 90.4 and he has 51.39 points. Edge rusher Asharri Charles and DL Tyson Bacon and Anthony Kennedy are credited to Taylor as a recruiter. Bacon and Charles are four-star prospects, and Kennedy is three stars.
Miami wide receivers coach Kevin Beard should also be mentioned as the 17th-ranked recruiter in the ACC. Beard helped Miami flip three-star WR Tyran Evans from Tennessee and four-star Vince Spafford from Georgia earlier this month in the 2026 class.
Miami is far from finished in the 2026 class. Nineteen prospects are committed to Miami in the 2026 class. Other Miami assistant coaches could move into the top of the rankings if several blue-chip prospects commit to Miami. The biggest 2026 prospect to watch for Miami is five-star running back Derrek Cooper.
