The amazing Fox Sports artificial intelligence retrospective of Jimmy Johnson included in part his five seasons as Miami Hurricanes head coach. FOX Sports showed a pair of clips from the Johnson era at Miami, culminating with Johnson leading the Hurricanes to the 1987 National Championship.
The first clip shown was the Doug Flutie Hail Mary for Boston College against Miami in the regular season finale during Johnson's first season in 1984. A Michael Irvin touchdown in the 1988 Orange Bowl Game while Johnson was narrating how the establishment didn't like Miami was perfect timing.
Miami finished Johnson's first season with an 8-5 record. The week before losing to Boston College, Miami had what was then the biggest collapse in college football history. Miami led Maryland 31-0 before losing 42-40. UCLA defeated Miami 39-37 in the Fiesta Bowl.
The five Miami losses during Johnson's first season were more than his final four at Miami combined. Miami went 44-4 in his final four seasons. The Hurricanes entered the 1986 Sugar Bowl against Tennessee and the 1987 Fiesta Bowl versus Penn State with the opportunity to earn National Championships.
LEGEND.

"Next came the University of Miami. The National Champs. The big time. The road to victory was tough. Especially when we ended my first season on the wrong end of one of football's most famous plays...But in Miami, we built THE college football powerhouse. We weren't cocky, we were confident. Because we knew we were the best. The establishment didn't like us, but we didn't care. By 1987 I was on the National Championship team again, this time as head coach. "Jimmy Johnson
The 1987 team led by quarterback Steve Walsh was a redemption tour, as Miami went 12-0 and Johnson won his only National Championship. Miami finished 11-1 in 1988, but a controversial regular season loss at Notre Dame prevented consecutive National Championships.
The video continued after Miami and showed his career coaching the Dallas Cowboys, initial entry into television, return to coaching with the Dolphins and the drafting of Hall of Famers, linebacker Zach Thomas and a clip of Johnson presenting current Miami defensive line coach Jason Taylor for induction.
Irvin made a second appearance with fellow Hall of Famer and Dallas teammate Emmitt Smith when Johnson was inducted into the Cowboys Ring of Honor. The video concludes with Johnson meeting up with his FOX Sports colleagues on the field in Dallas followed by him handing a football to his younger self.
