1. Emory Williams
Williams has attempted 83 passes in his two collegiate seasons at Miami. The former three-star recruit has performed well with his limited reps, completing 66.3 percent of his passes for 631 passing yards, four touchdowns, and just one interception.
This has added to a 143.6 rating, which can give Canes fans hope for the likely Ward replacement. Williams was a productive high school player in Florida. He threw for 4,380 yards, completed 63.2 percent of his passes and threw 40 touchdowns to seven interceptions in his career.
Williams brings this productivity and experience at the NCAA level to the table, hoping to take the reigns in 2025. Here is the 247Sports scouting report on Williams in 2022.
"Owns a live arm and isn’t one that struggles to put pace on the ball. Quicker release usually allows him to stay on schedule. So does a sturdy base and cleaner footwork. Has operated primarily out of a single-back spread attack on Friday nights and found plenty of success in that type of system, averaging just over 240 yards passing his first full year as a starter. Should be categorized as more of a pocket passer than anything else at this stage in his development, but has flashed the ability to move the chains with his legs in certain situations, and was actually a district qualifier in the 110 and 300-meter hurdles as a tenth grader.
