2. Judd Anderson
Anderson is a freshman who entered college as a three-star recruit. Standing at 6'6" and weighing 220 pounds, he is well-positioned to compete for a starting role by 2025.
However, Anderson needs to make significant improvements, as his statistics from his senior year in high school are not particularly strong. According to MaxPreps, Anderson completed 56 percent of his passes for 1,776 yards, with 15 TDs and 13 interceptions. While his potential is evident, Anderson must prove that he can perform at the next level and improve his skills.
3. Luke Nickel
Nickel is the newly signed, highly touted guy in the QB room in Miami. The 6'2 205 pound Georgia product has a four-star composite ranking on 247 sports.
Nickel finished his high school career with 9,756 yards, completed 63.5 percent of his pass attempts with 103 TD and 20 interceptions. The 22nd-ranked QB in the nation has a chance to fulfill a lot of promise in Miami.
If Nickel can come in and build on his success in high school, Miami fans should be excited about him playing quarterback, though it may be likely we won't see him in a starting role in 2025. Here is the 247Sports scouting report for Nickel in 2023.
"Throws an accurate, catchable ball and can beat coverages with touch. Will pick apart defenses when plays stay on schedule and the pocket is kept clean. Has already been asked to make pre-snap adjustments and does a favorable job of disguising his intentions. Not afraid to take a deep shot, but arm can present some limitations. "Andrew Ivins - 247 Sports
Whoever takes the helm in 2025 will face a large challenge, as Cam Wards are rare in college football. As we close out the 2024 season, there are guys in that QB room who give Miami fans hope for the future. All three 2025 Miami QBs come in with a mix of potential and room for improvement, so their development will play a large role in their success.
Cristobal must identify the QB to allow Miami to build on the success that they started in 2024. This regular season was fun, but whoever takes over at QB in 2025 will face playoff expectations from Canes fans.
