Ohio State stayed in the driver's seat as the Associated Press released its latest Top 25 on Sunday, but the real story was the movement underneath. Nineteen teams changed places after a Week 11 that saw the ACC race blow up and BYU fall to Texas Tech.
Miami moved up to No. 16 in the AP Top 25 and could be one of the main beneficiaries from the wild weekend in the ACC. With Virginia (previously No. 12) and Louisville (previously No. 13) both losing, Miami moved up to two spots and we could see that happen again in the CFP rankings on Tuesday.

At the top, voters again signaled confidence in the Buckeyes while the biggest on-field result came in the Big 12. No. 9 Texas Tech crushed No. 8 BYU 29-7, handing the Cougars their first loss. The Red Raiders were rewarded with a No. 8 ranking and BYU slipped to No. 12. BYU's downfall could be good for Miami in the long run.
Oregon survived at Iowa 18-16 in a dreary, field-position game. That win wasn't impressive to the voters as they moved Ole Miss up a spot to No. 6. The Rebels beat The Citadel 49-0. The top five teams remained the same. USF, who Miami defeated earlier in the year, has made its return into the rankings (that's a resume builder).
The ACC picture is where the poll moved most. Virginia took a puzzling 14-9 home loss to Wake Forest. Louisville fell in overtime to Cal. With both stumbling, Georgia Tech and Miami climbed up the rankings. It is a positive sign for Miami that they got the nod over Louisville, despite losing the head-to-head matchup. Teams with the same records usually are ranked using that tiebreaker first, but since the AP voters decided to look over it, there is hope the CFP committee will do the same.
Also, Miami found themselves ahead of Virginia in the rankings. That is something that should be mirrored by the committee come Tuesday.
