Miami quarterback Cam Ward, the presumptive top pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, told Aditi Kinkhabwala of CBS Sports he wants to be the first rookie quarterback to win a Super Bowl. The Tennessee Titans are expected to make Ward the first pick in the 2025 NFL Draft on Thursday night.
Tennessee finished 3-14 during the 2024 season and has not had a winning record since 2021. The Cleveland Browns, New York Giants, and Tennessee tied for the worst record in the NFL during the 2024 season at 3-14. Tennessee last had a winning record in 2021 when they finished 12-5 and won the AFC South.
Will Levis, who Tennessee picked in the second round of the 2023 NFL Draft, has been their quarterback and leading passer for each of the past two seasons. Ward is regarded as a significant upgrade over Levis, who was drafted out of Kentucky.
The St. Louis Rams had the biggest one-year turnaround in NFL history. St. Louis finished 4-12 in 1998. A major off-season rebuild resulted in St. Louis creating The Greatest Show on Turf, finishing the 1999 season 13-3, and ironically defeating Tennessee in Super Bowl XXXIV.

"Hopefully win a Super Bowl. First rookie to do it in the first year. So it's a lot to put out there. Try to make it happen. Try to bring it to the organizing as much as I can. "Cam Ward
Tennessee needs a lot more than Ward to turn their franchise around. The Titans were 27th in points and 26th in total offense during the 2024 season. Levis led a pass offense that was 26th in yards and 31st in interceptions in 2024. Calvin Ridley gives Ward a go-to receiver.
Ridley led Tennessee with 64 receptions on targets and 1,017 receiving yards in 2024. Tennessee has made significant upgrades to its offensive line in the past two offseasons and signed speedy veteran wide receiver Tyler Lockett from Seattle to give Ward another target in the passing game.
