During an interview with Adam Finkelstein of 247Sports, five-star 2025 Miami Columbus twins Cameron and Cayden Boozer affirmed in the positive that they remain committed to Duke. New Miami head coach Jai Lucas was the primary recruiter for the Boozers at Duke.

Miami, Jim Larranaga and the Hurricanes were thought to be the runner-up for Cameron and Cayden Boozer. When Lucas was hired by Miami, there were questions if the Boozers would flip to the Hurricanes. Duke has earned loyalty from the Boozers with their father, Carlos, part of the Blue Devils' 2001 National Championship team.

Cameron Boozer has averaged 21.2 points per game, 11.4 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 1.6 steals and 1.9 blocks per game throughout his Miami Columbus career. Cayden Boozed has posted 14.4 PPG, 4.1 RPG, 6.1 APG and 1.7 SPG during his career with Columbus.

With Cooper Flagg, Kon Knueppel and Khaman Maluach all expected to move on to the 2025 NBA Draft at the end of the season, Cameron and Cayden Boozer are projected to be the next stars for Duke. The sell at Miami is Cameron and Cayden Boozer could have been foundational players to help build on the 2023 Final Four trip.

Duke has the top 2025 class with Cameron and Cayden Boozer, Shelton Henderson and Nikolas Nikolas Khamenia. Lucas is trying to salvage a class for Miami after signees Ben Ahmed and Matthew Able asked out following the retirement of Larranaga in December. Able is still considering Miami. Ahmed is going to Oklahoma State.

The Boozers announcing they are staying with their commitment to Duke should allow Lucas to focus on other potential late 2025 prospects and the transfer portal. Expect Lucas to remain in touch with the Boozers as their top recruiter with Duke. The next few weeks should be busy for Lucas and his staff.
