Miami and Notre Dame fans probably are not done arguing about last season, and they still have one more major meeting coming in November. But the Arizona Cardinals just gave both sides something to watch together.
Former Miami quarterback Carson Beck and former Notre Dame running back Jeremiyah Love are now teammates in Arizona after the Cardinals selected Love with the No. 3 overall pick and Beck with the No. 65 pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.
Love is wearing No. 4, while Beck is wearing No. 19. For two fanbases that spent last season going back and forth over one of college football's most emotional rivalry renewals, Arizona suddenly has a little Miami-Notre Dame bridge on its roster.

Cardinals pair Carson Beck, Jeremiyah Love after Miami-Notre Dame drama
The Cardinals took Beck in the third round after he helped lead the Hurricanes to the College Football Playoff National Championship Game. Beck completed 72.4% of his passes for 3,813 yards, 30 touchdowns and 12 interceptions in his lone season at Miami. He arrived in Coral Gables after a high-profile run at Georgia.
Miami and Notre Dame reopened one of college football's classic rivalries last season, and the first game back changed the entire 2025-26 season.
Miami beat Notre Dame 27-24 at Hard Rock Stadium in the 2025 opener. That result led to Notre Dame eventually missing the College Football Playoff after finishing with losses to Miami and Texas A&M. The Irish declined bowl invitations after being left out of the CFP, while Miami went on a playoff run that ended in the national championship game. The debate around the committee's decision dominated the college football world for weeks.
Miami now travels to Notre Dame on Nov. 7, 2026, for a 7:30 p.m. game. It is one of the spotlight games on Notre Dame's 2026 home schedule and one of Miami's biggest road tests of the season.
It could also be the last Miami-Notre Dame meeting for a while. The earliest matchup between the programs looks to be a TBA game in 2037. Future schedules can change, especially with Notre Dame's ACC scheduling agreement, but as of now, this season's game looks like the last scheduled chapter for more than a decade.
Beck and Love give both fanbases common ground. Miami fans can follow Beck as he tries to grow into a future quarterback option in Arizona. Notre Dame fans can watch Love begin his career as one of the highest-drafted running backs in years. And the success of both players will affect each other in the early parts of their careers.
