Carson Beck given extra motivation to tear apart Notre Dame by former Irish QB

Who is Malik Zaire and why should anyone care what he thinks?

My first thought when I heard that Malik Zaire was talking trash about Carson Beck? Who is Malik Zaire?

The name sounded familiar. I remember his name from back in the day. Zaire was always supposed to be the next guy at Notre Dame, but it never happened, so he transferred to Florida and couldn't beat out Feleipe Franks (lol) on a 4-7 team.

And this guy is talking noise? The same dude that got run out of South Bend by Ian Book?

Some comments you take with a grain of salt and then others don't even deserve that. This would fall into the latter category. For starters, Beck didn't even play in the Georgia-Notre Dame playoff game last year because of arm surgery, so Zaire doesn't have a real clue about what Beck is going to be able to do on Sunday.

But moreover, with regard to Zaire, I will quote famous Hurricanes alumnus Dwayne Johnson..."you ain't nuthin', you're a hundred pounds of nuthin, 5-feet-nothing."

Zaire isn't even important enough to be a footnote in Notre Dame history. He's all on social media, talking about this "we" stuff when he mentions Notre Dame, as if someone would ever remember him playing for the Irish. This guy averaged a touchdown and a half per season in his career.

Some guys need to stay in their lane

If these comments ever got back to Beck, I'm sure his response would be "who is Malik Zaire and why should I care". Beck is focused on being one of the best quarterbacks in the country this season and trying to lead the Hurricanes to an ACC championship and the playoffs.

Beck is going to enter this game and this season with a big chip on his shoulder. Not because of anything Malik Zaire said, because he probably doesn't know who Malik Zaire is, but rather because a lot of irrelevant people like Mailk Zaire have had a problem keeping Carson Beck's name out of their mouths.

On Sunday, Carson Beck will be ready to serve up a tall glass of "shut up" juice to Malik Zaire and everyone else that has a problem with him.
