Carson Beck's experience in big games showed itself on Sunday night when the Hurricanes withstood Notre Dame's rally and pulled out a 27-24 win.
Now that experience will show itself again as the Hurricanes move forward with a schedule that doesn't offer too many breaks.

“Humility is always a week away.”
Praised the OL’s relentlessness, broke down the chemistry w/ CJ Daniels on that unreal grab, and showed the poise Miami’s been missing at QB.

Interesting, I didn't think Miami was missing poise at the quarterback position last season, but that's me. Anyway, here's what Beck said in full about humility during his mid-week press conference.
"We're very internally driven. We're very hungry. There's a lot of people with a lot of things to prove on this team. And humility is always a week away," he said. "I think that's what I'm trying to stress to a lot of these guys. Each and every week matters. Each and every week presents its own challenge with a new opponent."
"That's the fun of the game," Beck continued. "That's what I truly enjoy — the challenge of a new opponent, new people, new faces, new defense, new calls. Like how are we going to scheme these guys up? What are we going to run on offense? That's what i enjoy and what I think is super fun. You do all this preparation for 12 guaranteed games a year."
Beck will be the calm presence Miami needs
By starting two years in the SEC, Beck understands that the season is long and as important as it is to celebrate a big victory over a top-10 team, it's just as important to turn the page and focus on the next challenge.
This week is Bethune-Cookman. The Wildcats are overmatched. We all know that. It's a great opportunity for the starters to take care of business early and then allow the staff to get an extended look at the younger guys.
After that, the Hurricanes will host a feisty USF team, then the nasty Gators, before traveling to face a potentially undefeated (and top-10 ranked) FSU team at Doak Campbell Stadium on October 4.
That's three potential top-10 ranked opponents in the first five games and all three teams are serious rivals. It's not just a hard schedule on the field, it's a schedule that draws a lot of emotion because in-state rivalries always mean more to the fan base. And before that, there's a USF Bulls team that just smoked Boise State and thinks they can hang with the 'Canes. Miami can't afford an early letdown or spend too much time patting itself on the back.
Beck is here to steer the ship through waters both calm and choppy. He knows what to do, and he's done it before. That's why the Hurricanes are in good hands.
