Carson Beck has a clean bill of health going into the season.

The high-profile transfer from Georgia suffered a torn UCL in his right arm during the SEC Championship Game in December. He entered the transfer portal on January 9 and committed to Miami the next day.

After sitting out the spring to recover, Beck and coach Mario Cristobal both say the quarterback is completely healthy, ready for training camp and is preparing to be the starter for the Hurricanes' Week 1 showdown against Notre Dame.

Beck and Cristobal spoke with legendary Miami radio host Joe Rose of WQAM during their radio row appearance at ACC Media Days in Charlotte to confirm the good news.

“I’m doing good, I’ve been 100 percent for a while now,” Beck said. “Throughout the summer workouts, getting with the guys, really trying to build this chemistry with the receivers, watching film, out on the field, getting extra throws, routes, all that type of stuff. I’m feeling really good.”

Beck spent two years as the primary starter for the Bulldogs and threw for 7,902 yards and 58 touchdowns with just 20 interceptions over his four seasons in Athens. He threw for over 3,000 yards each of the past two years, leading Georgia to the Orange Bowl in 2023 and the College Football Playoff in 2024.

If healthy, Beck could be the Hurricanes' second first-round pick at quarterback in as many years. A blue-chip prospect from Jacksonville, Beck has the prototypical size (6-foot-4, 220 pounds) and arm strength that NFL scouts desire. In an early 2026 Mock Draft, he was projected to be a top-five pick by CBSSports.com's Blake Brockermeyer.

Beck was projected to be a first-round pick after last season, but struggled with turnovers at times. Cristobal said that's in the past and Beck will have an opportunity at redemption this season.

"Last year at this time, Carson Beck was the projected No. 1 quarterback in the draft, and Cam Ward was the fifth-round projection," Cristobal told Rose. "A lot of things could happen. And they only happen if you focus on doing the things you need to do to be successful and impacting those around you, and Carson is 100 percent focused on making Miami better.”

With Beck at full health, surrounded by talented skill players and supported by a great offensive line, Miami's offense should be buzzing this year.
