If the Miami Hurricanes need a highlight reel catch, they know that CJ Daniels can provide it.

With the Hurricanes trailing 7-0 late in the first half and looking to break out of their malaise, Daniels hauled in a corner fade route over the defenders' shoulder to tie the game and get the offense going. It was arguably the biggest play of the game as the Hurricanes came out in the second half and dominated the Cardinal for a 42-7 win.

This is the second amazing touchdown catch that Daniels has gotten this season and while it might not have been as viral as the first one, it was just as important for the Hurricanes.

"[The touchdown] was huge for us," quarterback Carson Beck said. "In those kind of rainy conditions...they are playing back in kind of a net where it's tough to get explosive plays. So, that was big for our momentum and just kind of getting our feet set in the game."

Tony Johnson provides big boost for offense

The Hurricanes have been looking for someone to step up in the passing game to go along with Daniels and superstar freshman Malachi Toney. On Saturday, it was Tony Johnson that answered the call. The transfer from Florida Atlantic led all Miami receivers with 69 yards on three receptions.

"It's always helpful when you have a lot of guys that are able to contribute and produce, right? And Tony Johnson was one of those guys tonight," Beck said. "Coming into the game we knew we were going to try to get him on the field a little more, try to get him a little bit more action."

There were also additional opportunities for Josh Moore (four catches, 38 yards) and the production from these receivers came at a perfect time. Toney and Daniels will certainly receive extra attention from SMU's defense next Saturday, and if Beck can develop trust with some other receivers, there is a greater chance of the pass game generating explosive plays.
