Miami running back Damien Martinez was named by ESPN analyst Louis Riddick to his fourth annual list of favorite non first round prospects from each team in the 2025 NFL Draft that could be a significant contributor or starter within the next two to three years.

Martinez was the 223rd overall pick in the seventh round by the Seattle Seahawks. Miami tight end Elijah Arroyo was the 50th overall pick in the second round by Seattle. Riddick spent nine years in the NFL as a player and 13 as a scout and personnel director.

Kenneth Walker III, Zach Charbonnet and Kenny McIntosh are the three RBs listed ahead of Martinez on the Seattle depth chart. Charbonnet and Walker nearly evenly split the carries in 2024. Walker had 153 carries for 573 yards and seven touchdowns. Charbonnet had 135 carries for 569 yards and eight TDs.

Listed at 6'2 and 235 pounds, Martinez would provide Seattle with a significantly bigger RB. Charbonnet, at 6'1 and 214 pounds, is the next biggest RB on the Seattle roster. Martinez should help Seattle on third down. Martinez had 19 carries for 107 yards on third down in 2024.

On third down and one to three yards in 2024, Martinez had 15 carries for 64 yards. Martinez had three carries for 39 yards with a long of 18 on third down and four to six yards. Seattle had 22 carries for 76 yards on third down and one to three yards to go during the 2024 season.

Seattle had four carries for 30 yards on third down and four to six yards to go. On fourth down and one to three yards to go, Seattle had 10 carries for 12 yards. Based on the numbers, Martinez could have an opportunity to contribute in short yardage if he makes the Seattle roster.

Walker played in only 11 games last season because of injury. If Walker is healthy, he projects as the lead Seattle RB. Martinez was the only RB Seattle drafted in 2025 and they did not sign an undrafted free agent at the position. Despite being a seventh-round pick, Martinez should have a good chance to make the Seattle roster.
