Miami sits atop Danny Kanell's post–Week 4 DKtop12. The ranking rewarded the Hurricanes' 26–7 win over Florida on Saturday night and a 4–0 start that includes two victories over ranked opponents.
After Week 4 …the most reliable ranking out there #DKtop12 #gottaearnit
— Danny Kanell (@dannykanell) September 21, 2025
1. Miami
2. Oklahoma
3. Oregon
4. Ohio State
5. LSU
6. Ole Miss
7. Georgia
8. Florida State
9. Vanderbilt
10. Texas AM
11. Texas Tech
12. Georgia Tech
The Hurricanes held Florida to 141 total yards and one third-down conversion in their win on Saturday, getting 116 rushing yards from Mark Fletcher Jr. while Marty Brown scored twice. Miami, after Clemson and SMU fell again, controls its destiny in the ACC. Kanell's rankings also align with the recent buzz that Miami should be ranked higher.
The Sooners' jump to No. 2 in Kanell's rankings is due to their statement win over the weekend. Oklahoma sacked Auburn 10 times — a program record — in a 24–17 victory to reach 4–0. Oklahoma's fake substitution was the story after the game but John Mateer threw for 271 yards and was able to close out the game.

Auburn has ZERO CLUE he’s on the field, and Oklahoma gets a wide open touchdown.

Oregon at No. 3 stayed hot with a 41–7 rout of rival Oregon State, while No. 5 LSU cruised 56–10 over Southeastern Louisiana behind four total touchdowns from Garrett Nussmeier. Ole Miss (No. 6) throttled previously unbeaten Tulane 45–10 to move to 4–0.
Ohio State, slotted fourth by Kanell, was on a bye along with fellow top-five AP team, Penn State. Florida State, eighth on Kanell's list, blasted Kent State 66–10 with a school-record 498 rushing yards, keeping the Seminoles unbeaten and setting up a pivotal ACC matchup against Miami.
Two inclusions sparked bit of debate — Vanderbilt at No. 9 is a nod to a 4–0 start and a 70–21 demolition of Georgia State and Texas A&M at No. 10 was on a bye as Auburn awaits in Week 5.
Texas Tech at No. 11 hammered Utah 34–10 on the road and now looks to be the Big 12 favorite.
Rounding out Kanell's dozen, Georgia Tech entered at No. 12 and did its part Saturday, improving to 4–0 for the first time since 2014 with a 45–24 win over Temple. The Yellow Jackets' fast start — Colorado, Gardner-Webb, Clemson and Temple — sets them up well as they move into the rest of their schedule.
