As the hip-hop artist Fat Joe often says, "Yesterday's price is not today's price."
And if you didn't get on Darian Mensah's Heisman odds before the season started, you might be too late to the party. Mensah, who started the season at +1000 on FanDuel, is now the favorite to win college football's top individual award at +550, putting him far ahead of the preseason favorite CJ Carr (+850).
Mensah's odds weren't the only ones that improved significantly. Malachi Toney was around +2500 before setting a new Miami Hurricanes single-game receiving yards record in Week 1. The sophomore's odds have been elevated to +1400, tying him with Ohio State quarterback Julian Sayin and Oregon quarterback Dante Moore for the fifth-best odds.

Darian Mensah is the talk of college football and for good reason
When you throw for 400 yards and five touchdowns in the first game with a new team, everyone's going to take notice. Mensah was great and with the unlimited weapons in Miami's offense, Toney was right to suggest that they are just going to keep getting better. This duo is going to be electric the rest of the way, and opposing defenses are going to have their hands full.
"I can't believe there's a better college quarterback than Darian Mensah," Colin Cowherd exclaimed. "You can tell me what you want about CJ Carr, Arch Manning, LaNorris Sellers, Dante Moore...Mensah is about as good a college quarterback as you're going to get."
"I'm just sitting here watching Miami drop a 40-piece and blown away by how casual it all looked. Darian Mensah showed up in December... January...whenever it was....had three incompletions and looked like he's played quarterback in this system his entire life," On3's JD PicKell added.
If there is anything that can stop Mensah from being the Heisman Trophy winner, it's the guy that's catching touchdowns from him. Toney will get just as much fanfare if he begins racking up the yards and touchdowns on the receiving end of Mensah's passes.
The best news is that neither player is worried about any individual honors. They are here to lead Miami to its first football championship in 25 years and Mensah expects the Miami offense to be "more physical and even more dominant" next Thursday against Florida A&M. Any awards that come along the way are a bonus.
"I'm just blessed to be in the position I'm at, and it's just an honor to be the quarterback of this team," Mensah said after the win. "It feels good to go 1-0. We preach it all the time. A short week coming up...home opener. We're going to be excited, but yeah, I'm just ready to get back to work."
