Miami is now seeing at least two players enter the transfer portal after its crushing title game loss to Indiana. Linebacker Bobby Washington Jr. and QB Emory Williams have entered the transfer portal.
The decisions come just one day after Miami's 27-21 loss to Indiana in the CFP national championship game. Miami and Indiana players have a short runway to sort out their futures. Players from those two teams have until Saturday to enter the portal.

Williams is expected to target East Carolina and will leave Miami with two seasons of eligibility remaining. He appeared in 12 career games for the Hurricanes and threw for 813 yards with four touchdowns.
His biggest moment in a Miami uniform came as a true freshman in 2023, when he was pressed into the starting job against Clemson. Williams helped Miami rally past the Tigers 28-20 in double overtime, completing 24 of 33 passes for 151 yards and a touchdown in his first career start.
His second start that season ended in a much different way. Williams started at Florida State in November 2023 and exited late with an injury.
Williams played in two games in 2024, highlighted by an efficient outing against Ball State, when he went 11 of 12 for 161 yards and a touchdown. He also saw time in Miami's Pop-Tarts Bowl game against Iowa State. In 2025, he appeared in five games and finished 13 of 19 for 156 yards, with no touchdowns or interceptions.
For Williams, it's a clear bet on opportunity and potentially a starting job.

Washington signed with the Hurricanes out of Miami Palmetto as a touted recruit in the 2023 class. He was a four-star recruit by Rivals and was ranked among the top linebackers nationally.
He never carved out a major defensive role in Coral Gables, but he did play. Washington appeared in 14 games over the last two seasons, logging seven tackles and a half sack in that span.
