Darian Mensah sparkles in Miami debut as Malachi Toney adds record-breaking performance

Darian Mensah threw five touchdown passes in his Miami debut, Malachi Toney set a program receiving record, and No. 7 Miami opened the season with a 42-6 rout of Stanford on Friday night.

Toney caught 12 passes for 233 yards and three touchdowns, breaking Eddie Brown's single-game school record of 220 yards set back in 1984. Mensah completed 27 of 30 passes for 401 yards and did not throw an interception. Cooper Barkate added four catches for 67 yards and a score and CharMar Brown ran for 37 yards and a touchdown.

Miami finished with 480 yards to Stanford's 244 and the Hurricanes did not turn the ball over. Davis Warren completed 19 of 38 passes for 204 yards.
