David Pollack just handed Miami and Ohio State a brand-new piece of bulletin-board material. Pollack, the former Georgia star and current college football analyst, said in a clip circulating on social media that Miami is "better on both sides of the line of scrimmage" than Ohio State heading into the Cotton Bowl quarterfinal.
""Miami's better on both sides of the line of scrimmage. Miami's offensive line to me is better than Ohio State's. Miami's defensive line is better than Ohio State's.""David Pollack

David Pollack says Miami is better than Ohio State on line of scrimmage
That take has lit a fire in the Ohio State fanbase, and with Miami fresh off a road playoff win built almost entirely on line play and toughness, it also makes some sense.
The Hurricanes advanced by beating Texas A&M 10-3 at Kyle Field, a game where Miami's offense threw for just 103 yards but ran for 175 and got the only touchdown late. Mark Fletcher Jr. carried 17 times for 172 yards, including a 56-yard burst on the winning drive.
Miami's defensive front was just as big. The Hurricanes held A&M to 89 rushing yards on 35 attempts and sacked quarterback Marcel Reed seven times.
If you're Ohio State, you're probably saying something like this: "Okay, cool. Now do it against us." The Buckeyes are still the defending national champions. And even if Pollack is right that Miami has an edge at one or both lines, Ohio State's roster is still loaded enough to get the job done.
If you're Miami, you can point to last week and say the claim isn't crazy. Fletcher didn't just rip A&M without open running lanes, and Miami didn't turn Reed into a pinball machine without winning up front. Luckily, everything will be sorted out on the field on Dec. 31.
