Elite 2027 DL Jamar Thompson cuts recruitment to four and includes Miami

Thompson's final four includes Miami, Auburn, Michigan and Ohio State.

2027 West Boca Raton defensive lineman Jamar Thompson has trimmed his recruitment to four schools. Thompson is the No. 1 defensive lineman in Florida in the 2027 Rivals300. Thompson's final four includes Miami, Auburn, Michigan and Ohio State.

Thompson is listed at 6-foot-3 and 305 pounds, and both 247Sports and On3 rank him among the top defensive linemen in the 2027 cycle. 247Sports currently lists him No. 177 nationally, No. 19 among defensive linemen and No. 19 in Florida in the Composite, while On3 lists him No. 190 nationally, No. 20 at his position and No. 19 in the state.

2027 DL Jamar Thompson includes Miami in final four schools

Thompson has already made multiple unofficial visits to Coral Gables, including trips on Oct. 25 and Nov. 8 of last year, and Miami was also got him back on campus for 305 Day last week.

Thompson logged 42 total tackles, five sacks, one forced fumble and three passes defended during the 2025 season. Earlier in his career, he put up 66 tackles, 16 tackles for loss, four sacks and two fumble recoveries in 2024.

Recent Miami history recruiting the D-line

The Hurricanes officially signed seven defensive linemen in the 2026 class: Asharri Charles, DeAnthony Lafayette, Jordan Campbell (edge/linebacker hybrid), Keshawn Stancil, Logan Nagle, Tyson Bacon, Frederic Sainteus and Isaac Chukwurah.

The headliner of that group is Keshawn Stancil, a four-star defensive lineman from Clayton, North Carolina. 247Sports had him as the No. 72 overall player in the country and No. 5 defensive lineman. He posted 68 tackles, 17 tackles for loss and five sacks as a senior after a huge junior year with 63 tackles, 23 TFL and nine sacks.

For the 2027 class, Miami does not currently have a defensive line commit. The class has five commits: Ah'Mari Stevens, Jaylyn Jones, Zaquan Linton, Demarcus Deroche and Nick Lennear.
