Elite 2028 QB keeps Miami firmly in the mix with latest top 10

2028 quarterback Neimann Lawrence has cut his list to 10 schools, a group that includes Miami, Ohio State, Texas, Texas A&M, Michigan, Kentucky, Notre Dame, Florida, Virginia Tech and Oregon.

On 247Sports, he's rated a 90 and is listed as the No. 38 overall player, the No. 4 quarterback, and the No. 10 recruit in Florida in the 2028 rankings. In the 247Sports Composite, he's even higher, checking in at No. 27 nationally and No. 3 at QB in the class.

On the On3/Rivals side, the Industry Comparison lists Lawrence with an 87.98 industry score and slots him No. 29 overall and No. 4 at quarterback.

On3's recruiting profile for Lawrence shows Miami as his top projected landing spot in its prediction model, with offensive coordinator Shannon Dawson as the primary recruiter.

Lawrence played at Miami Ransom Everglades in 2024. As a freshman, he threw for 2,777 yards, 31 touchdowns and eight interceptions. He then transferred to Miami Northwestern ahead of his sophomore season in 2025. In 2025, Lawrence played 10 games and threw for 1,971 yards with 32 passing touchdowns and one interception (131 completions on 185 attempts). He also logged 104 rushing yards and one rushing touchdown, putting him at 2,075 total yards. He then transferred to American Heritage from Miami Northwestern ahead of his junior season. Lawrence will be playing for his third high school in as many years.

Lawrence has been around the Miami program, with unofficial visits to Miami in the fall of 2025, including dates in late August, September and November.

Lawrence is still in the early stages of the process, and the list itself will likely evolve as time goes on. Regardless, it is a positive sign that Miami is sitting in the top 10.
