ESPN College Football analyst Booger McFarland named Miami, Oregon and Florida State as the three best teams he has seen this season. McFarland posted his personal rankings during halftime of the Hurricanes 26-7 win over Florida on Saturday night.

Florida State beat Kent State 66-10 and Oregon beat Oregon State 41-7. The Seminoles improved to 3-0 with the win and the Ducks are 4-0. Miami was fourth in the Associated Press Top 25 and sixth in the USA Today Coaches Poll entering week four.

Oregon is sixth in the AP Top 25 and fourth in the USA Today Coaches poll. Florida State was seventh in the AP Top 25 and ninth in the USA Today Week Four Coaches poll. None of the teams ahead of Miami or Oregon lost. Expect Miami and Oregon to remain where they are in week five polls that will be released on Sunday.

Florida State should move up after Indiana beat Illinois 63-10. Illinois was ninth in the AP Top 25 and eighth in the week four USA Today Coaches poll. Miami is one of the few teams nationally with two wins over two top 25 teams during the first four weeks of the 2025 season.

Miami finished with 344 total yards to 141 for Florida. The Hurricanes dominated the first half with 198 total yards to 32 for the Gators. Miami leads 13-0 at halftime. Florida got back in the game in the third quarter with a touchdown to cut their deficit to 13-7.

After a key fourth-down stop in the fourth quarter, Miami had a 13 play 80-yard drive in 7:12 that culminated with a one-yard run by CharMar Brown to extend the lead to 19-7. Miami closed out the game defensively by stopping Florida to preserve the win. McFarland did not mention the Miami game after halftime.
