ESPN Gameday Picks for Miami at Georgia Tech
ESPN Gameday analysts that included guests LSU gymnast Livvy Dunne and her boyfriend, Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher Paul Skenes unanimously picked Miami at Georgia Tech on Saturday. The line moved and "that number is down to 8.5" per Gameday host Rece Davis at the end of the Miami at Georgia Tech segment.
Georgia Tech quarterback Haynes King started the game versus Miami after being a game time decision. How well King is recovered from a shoulder injury will have a major impact on the game. True freshman Aaron Philo will be the primary backup for King on Saturday.
Georgia Tech will lean on the run. The Yellow Jackets run on 52.54 percent of their plays. Jamal Haynes is 10th in the ACC averaging 66.44 rushing yards per game. King is second among QBs in the ACC averaging 50.43 rushing yards per game. It would not be surprising to see QB Zach Pyron in some running packages for Georgia Tech.
When Miami has the ball the biggest question could be the Georgia Tech pass rush. Georgia Tech is last in the ACC with 11.0 sacks and an average of 1.22 per game. The key versus Miami and Cam Ward has been to apply pressure. It could be a long afternoon for Georgia Tech is they do not pressure Ward.
Desmond Howard-I am going to have to go the Canes, they are not going to stop Cam Ward.
Nick Saban-Miami's offense is a bad match-up for Georgia Tech's defense.
Pat McAfee-I think Miami wins but not by more than 8.5
Livvy Dunne-I think Miami because they have a great offense and are undefeated.
Lee Corso-I am taking Miami what's shes's (Dunne) taking.
Kirk Herbstreit-I am going with Miami. Pat, you said it's going to be a little closer. If Haynes King plays for four quarters it's going to be a shootout type of game, but give me Miami.
