Miami’s quarterback brand got a nice boost with three Hurricanes (or Hurricanes-era) QBs showing up in ESPN's updated list of the top 100 college football quarterbacks of the 2000s.

ESPN's Bill Connelly published the refreshed rankings, noting the list only evaluates what a player did in the 2000s and that he only adds quarterbacks once their college careers are complete. That framework still left plenty of room for Miami, from the peak dynasty years to the modern portal era.

No. 43 Ken Dorsey

Ken Dorsey finished third in Heisman voting in 2001, fifth in 2002, and threw for 9,565 passing yards and 86 TDs in his career.

"He inherited an all-time great supporting cast and piloted it beautifully enough to earn a pair of top-5 Heisman finishes. The U went 35-2 in his three seasons as a starter and has won double-digit games only three times since his departure."
Bill Connelly

No. 55 Cam Ward

Cam Ward threw for 4,313 passing yards and 39 touchdowns in his lone Miami season. Those were single-season school records for passing yards and passing TDs. He also logged 204 rushing yards and four rushing TDs, while steering an offense that ranked first nationally in scoring (43.9 PPG) and total offense (537.2 YPG).

"Instead of going pro, he hopped on at Miami for a season and damn near led the Canes to the CFP. His career numbers at all levels: 18,137 yards, 158 TDs."
Bill Connelly

No. 86 Carson Beck

At Miami, Carson Beck threw for 3,813 passing yards and 30 touchdowns, along with an 81.8 QBR that was in the national top 10 range. Pair that with his time at Georgia, you have a winner.

"A backup for two Georgia national title teams, Beck won 24 games and threw for 7,400 yards in two seasons starting for the Dawgs before transferring to Miami and leading a Cinderella charge to the national title game."
