Florida State at Miami gets a prime time kickoff
Florida State at Miami will kickoff at 7 PM Eastern Standard Time on October 26 and be televised by ESPN as announced by the ACC on Monday. Miami will attempt to end a three-game losing streak to Florida State. The current streak was preceded by a four-game Miami win streak versus Florida State.
Miami will play Louisville with a noon kickoff on ABC on ABC on Saturday. Miami rallied from a 35-10 deficit to win 39-38 at California on October 5 in their last game before a bye this past weekend. Florida State lost 29-13 versus Clemson on October 5 before they also had a bye this past weekend.
Florida State plays at Duke on Friday. Miami has won 35 and lost 33 in the all-time series with Florida State. Miami is 19-21 versus Florida State in games played in Miami. Florida State has won seven of its past nine games played in Miami. The Seminoles ended a two-game losing streak in Miami in 2022.
Florida State and Miami are on completely different trajectories in 2024. Miami is 6-0 and ranked sixth nationally in the Associated Press Top 25 and AFCA Coaches Poll. Florida State has started 1-5 and is two wins away from being eliminated from bowl contention. Florida State was the first team to clinch finishing under its projected 2024 win total.
Miami is tied for second in the ACC with Pittsburgh and SMU with a 2-0 conference record. Clemson leads the ACC with a 4-0 conference record. Florida State is 14th out of 17 teams in the ACC with a 1-4 conference record. Miami will be a prohibitive favorite versus Florida State.
The ESPN Football Power Index projects Miami with a 90.2 percent chance of beating Florida State. Those numbers will be updated after the week eight games. Miami needs to keep winning to secure a berth in the ACC Championship game and put themselves in a position for a potential invite to the College Football Playoff.
