Frank Gore, the former Miami Hurricane running back, who played as a true freshman, while making a significant contribution on the 2001 Miami Hurricanes Championship team, has an unassuming demeanor.
Gore has never been a flashy player, a trait that was cultivated, when he played for the Canes from 2001 to 2004. Although the semifinalist for the Pro Football Hall of Fame is not statistically among the all-time rushing leaders in Miami Hurricanes history, he became one of the most valuable and underrated players in the program's storied history.

The Miami native enjoyed a long, stellar, and steady career at the NF L level. Because the dependable back was not overutilized in the Hurricane backfield, Gore's lack of consistent playing time, could have contributed to his longevity and durability.
Frank Gore would enjoy a consistent career by playing for five teams, commencing with the San Francisco 49ers in 2005. The 49ers picked Gore sixty-fifth overall, in the third round that year.
He would go on to play for the "team by the bay," for ten productive years, the San Francisco 49ers (2005-2014). Some would suggest that Frank Gore was a journeyman because he suited up for five NFL franchises.
Blessed with tremendous lower body strength and surprising breakaway speed, Gore ended his NFL journey with his fifth franchise, the New York Jets in 2020. By the time the Hurricane alum completed his NFL career, he would become among the top three rushing leaders in the National Football League of all-time.
Who would have thought that a quiet-spoken and unselfish player would rank that high in rushing yards? Once Frank Gore hung up the cleats, he would finish just behind all-time greats, the great, Emmitt Smith and the late, great, Walter Payton.
It has been reported that Gore was an exceptional teammate. It is great to see former Miami Hurricane, Frank Gore, receive a potential spot among the all-time NFL greats with little bravado and a quiet spirit.
