Carson Beck didn’t need a viral clip to land on Heisman watch lists, but it helped. On a podcast (God Bless Football) with Jon “Stugotz” Weiner, Chris “The Bear” Fallica laid out why he’s buying the Miami hype and sees Beck as a credible Heisman pick.

"I bet Carson Beck to win the Heisman. I bet him at 33 to 1 and that number has come down quite a bit."

In 2024 at Georgia, Beck finished with 3,485 passing yards, 28 touchdowns, 12 interceptions and an 80.9 QBR (8th nationally). The Hurricanes open with No. 6 Notre Dame at Hard Rock Stadium on Sunday, Aug. 31. It is a top-10 showcase that doubles as an early Heisman audition for Beck. Miami’s schedule gives Beck multiple “voter moments” early. Notre Dame in Week 1 is the headliner but Florida also visits Sept. 20, and several ACC games loom against teams hovering near/in the rankings.

Health was the only meaningful variable this summer and the latest reporting has cooled that concern. Beck transferred in January after undergoing right-elbow UCL surgery following the SEC Championship. By late July he said he felt 100 percent, and Miami’s staff has treated him as a full-go through fall camp.

Beck is among the plausible winners in a field headlined by Arch Manning, reinforcing that his price sits in the sweet spot for value hunters. He is not a prohibitive favorite, but close enough to the top tier that one statement win can vault him to the front of the line.

Beck enters 2025 as a Tier-2 Heisman candidate with Tier-1 opportunity. The resume from last year (3,485/28/12; 80.9 QBR), a prime-time opener versus Notre Dame, and a clean bill of health set the table. If he delivers efficient, turnover-light quarterbacking while Miami stacks wins, it's certainly plausible that he makes a run at this award.
