The ACC named Miami right tackle Francis Mauigoa as the winner of the 2025 Jacobs Blocking Trophy, emblematic of the best blocker in the ACC. Mauigoa is the second Miami player to win the Jacobs Blocking Trophy. Offensive tackle Eric Winston won the award in Miami's first season in the ACC in 2004.

The Jacobs Blocking Trophy is voted on by ACC head coaches and defensive coordinators. Mauigoa has started in all 38 Miami games during his three seasons with the Hurricanes. Mauigoa was a 2024 Second Team All-ACC, 2023 honorable mention, All-ACC, Honorable Mention and a 2023 consensus Freshman All-American.

Per the ACC, Mauigoa is sixth nationally among offensive tackles with an 85.9 overall grade from Pro Football Focus and is third nationally with an 88.8 pass blocking grade. Mauigoa has allowed five pressures, two sacks and has had at least a seven-game streak without allowing a sack.

Mauigoa is part of a Miami offense that is 21st nationally, averaging 34.1 points per game, an offensive line producing 4.19 yards per carry, sixth in the country, allowing 3.5 tackles per game and eight permitting 0.92 sacks per game. The award indicates Mauigoa will earn first-team All-ACC for the first time.

Mauigoa is the third-highest-rated offensive line signee in Miami history. Offensive tackles, Seantrel Henderson in 2010, is the top Miami OL signee and Reggie Youngblood in 2005 is second. Mauigoa was the highest-rated Miami signee under Mario Cristobal until defensive tackle Justin Scott in 2024 and OT Jackson Cantwell in 2026.

Mauigoa helped Cristobal set the standard for the culture he wants to create for the entire Miami program and, more specifically, on the OL. The NFL Mock Draft Database has Mauigoa 11th on its Big Board for the 2026 NFL Draft. Mauigoa is projected first OL first-round pick for Miami under Cristobal in 2026.
