Francisco Mauigoa had the highest score in the 20-yard shuttle and was fourth in the three-cone drill among linebackers on Thursday at the NFL Combine. Edge-rusher Tyler Baron and Mauigoa were the lone Miami representatives at the NFL Combine on Thursday.

Mauigoa recorded a 4.24 20-yard shuttle time and 7.15 seconds in the three-cone drill. In the other events he participated in, Mauigoa was 10th running a 4.6 40-yard dash, seventh with a 1.56 10-yard split, eighth with a 35" vertical jump and seventh with a 10'1" vertical jump.

Mauigoa is 262nd on the consensus NFL Mock Draft Database big board that would project him as an undrafted free agent. The NFL Mock Draft Database had Mauigoa as the 161st-ranked prospect on Dec. 6. Hopefully, Mauigoa can climb back into being projected as an NFL draftee with his Combine performance.

Mauigoa will have another opportunity to perform in front of NFL scouts when Miami holds its Pro Day on March 24 in Coral Gables. Mauigoa was named second-team All-ACC in each of his two seasons in Miami in 2023 and 2024. During his final three seasons, Mauigoa was a very productive player.

Mauigoa had a breakout sophomore season in 2023 at Washington State, with 60 tackles, 6.0 tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks, one interception which he returned 95 yards for a touchdown, one pass defended, one fumble recovery and three forced fumbles. That came after Mauigoa was used sparingly as a true freshman in 2021.

In his two seasons at Miami, Mauigoa had 178 tackles, 29.0 TFLs, 9.5 sacks, two interceptions, eight passes defended and three forced fumbles. Mauigoa led the ACC with 18.0 TFLs during the 2023 season and was the Miami leader in tackles in both seasons he played for the Hurricanes.

NFL.Com analyst Lance Zierlein gave Mauigoa a mixed review saying, "his football intelligence and feel for blocking schemes. He’s proactive downhill but too slow to patrol sideline to sideline" and Mauigoa will have to prove "he’s a capable backup...and quality special-teams player."
