Quarterback Haynes King and running backs Chad Alexander and Jamal Haynes all enter the game verus Miami with injuries. Georgia Tech doesn't pass nearly a well without King who missed the last two games with a shoulder injuries. Haynes is the leading rusher for Georgia Tech, King is second and Alexander is third.

Haynes and King were both named captains versus Miami. That would appear to mean that they are playing. How healthy and effective Haynes and King will be critical for any chance Georgia Tech has to pull an upset. Georgia Tech is coming off of a bye week. Haynes left the game versus Virginia Tech on October 26 with a shoulder injury.

King has missed the last two games for Georgia Tech with his own shoulder injury. King has completed 71.2 percent of his passes for 1.568 yards, 8.2 yards per attempt, eight touchdowns and one interception with a 152.93 passer rating. Aaron Philo and Zach Pyron split time at QB with King out.

After completing over 65 percent of their pass attempts in the last three games, Georgia Tech has been under 53 percent in their last three games. King was 12-23 for 134 yards as Georgia Tech beat North Carolina 41-34 in the last game he played. Georgia Tech cratered offensively without King.

Although Georgia Tech averaged 264.5 passing yards over its last two games, they completed only 47.67 percent of their passes. Pyron played the entire game in a 31-13 loss to Notre Dame, completing 20 passes in 36 attempts for 269 yards, one TD and two interceptions with 13 carries for 45 yards.

Philo and Pyron split time in a 21-6 loss to Virginia Tech. Philo completed 11 passes in 26 attempts for 184 yards, no TDs and one interception with two carries for six yards versus Virginia Tech. Pyron completed 10 of 22 passes for 76 yards, no TDs and one interception with five carries for 10 yards versus the Hokies.

With opposing defenses able to stack the box with King out, Haynes had 26 carries for 62 yards which is 2.38 yards per carry and TD in the last two games. The defensive goal for Miami will almost definitely be to stop the run and make King win the game passing. How healthy King is versus Miami could determine how competitive the game will be.
