True freshman running back Girard Pringle Jr. has added an explosive element to the Miami rushing offense. Pringle Jr. should have opportunities to break long runs against a Texas A&M defense that has been susceptible to them in 2025.

Pringle has 58 carries for 362 yards and four touchdowns, with 15 carries for first downs, nine attempts for at least 10 yards, three for 20 or more and two of 30 plus. Miami is 124th nationally with seven carries for 20 or more yards and 111th of three for 20 or more in 2025.

Texas A&M is 77th, allowing 58 carries for at least 10 yards, 103rd permitting 19 runs for 20 or more, 122nd with opponents having 11 attempts for 30 or more and seven of 40 or more. Pringle Jr. leads the Miami RB backs with 6.24 yards per carry.

The Texas A&M run defense has been incredibly inconsistent throughout the 2025 season. Texas A&M The Aggies allowed over 200 yards rushing in five 2025 games and held opponents under 100 yards times.

Texas A&M allows 5.5 yards per carry, the sixth worst among Power Four Conference teams, with 3.9 yards after contact, the fourth worst nationally, per Pro Football Focus. Per PFF, the problems for Texas A&M stopping the run have been with their linebackers and defensive backs.

Texas A&M has one of the best DLs nationally. CharMar Brown and Mark Fletcher provide Miami with physical and tough inside runners, giving Miami the thunder. Pringle gives Miami the breakaway threat and lightning that the Hurricanes were missing for the first eight games of the season.

Miami breaking long runs with the likelihood of that coming from Pringle Jr. will be critical for the Hurricanes to earn an upset. Miami also needs to stay out of third and long against a Texas A&M defense that is first nationally in holding opponents to 22.73 percent on third down.
