Miami walked out of the early signing period with another blue-chip class near the top of the national rankings and, according to ESPN, a firm grip on the ACC recruiting race. ESPN's latest 2026 class rankings have the Hurricanes at No. 11 nationally with 13 prospects from its SC Next 300 list, headlined by five-star tackle Jackson Cantwell on offense and four-star linebacker Jordan Campbell on defense.
Miami Hurricanes 2026 recruiting class
"Much like current standout OT Francis Mauigoa, who was a five-star himself and a Year 1 starter, Cantwell could step in at one of the tackle spots upon arriving in South Florida. He is a massive presence at roughly 6-7 and 320 pounds and carries his size well. In addition to being powerful, he possesses good quickness and flexibility, and much like Mauigoa is being projected to be a high NFL draft pick."Craig Haubert
ESPN ranks Cantwell as the No. 3 overall player in the 2026 class and the top offensive tackle in its SC Next 300. Cantwell has been dominant in high school, earning Gatorade Missouri Player of the Year honors and piling up hundreds of pancake blocks while anchoring Nixa's run to a 13-1 season.
On the other side of the ball, Campbell, the longtime commit from Miami Northwestern, is listed by ESPN as the Hurricanes' top defensive prospect in this class.
"Four-star Miami native Jordan Campbell is 6-2, 220 pounds with the versatility to make plays in pursuit and the bend and power that portend a potential impact pass rusher. He's a candidate to take a leap with college coaching."Craig Haubert
ESPN also focused on quarterback Dereon Coleman. Coleman, a four-star from Jones High in Orlando, put up more than 3,400 yards and 28 touchdowns as a junior and followed that with a senior year completion rate north of 75%.
ESPN's takeaway matches what the other services are saying as well. Miami has already shown it can string elite classes together, and this 2026 haul, led by Cantwell, Campbell and Coleman, keeps that trend rolling.
