The latest ESPN projections keep pointing the same way for offensive tackle Francis Mauigoa and edge rusher Rueben Bain Jr., with both Hurricanes consistently showing up as top-15 caliber prospects.

Where things get more interesting is with Akheem Mesidor, whose first-round case looks much stronger in some projections than others.

Francis Mauigoa and Rueben Bain are the top Miami guys

Mauigoa and Bain have separated themselves as Miami's early picks. Mel Kiper Jr.'s big board lists Mauigoa 10th overall and Bain 15th overall. Matt Miller's seven-round mock draft sends Mauigoa to Arizona at No. 3 and Bain to Kansas City at No. 9. Field Yates also has both Hurricanes going early, with Bain at No. 8 to New Orleans and Mauigoa at No. 11 to the Dolphins.

Mauigoa started all 42 games of his career at right tackle and earned consensus first-team All-America honors last year while allowing only two sacks during Miami's run to the national title game.

Bain put up 70 tackles, 18.5 tackles for loss, 9.5 sacks and 71 pressures over 16 games, while winning the ACC Defensive Player of the Year award.

Akheem Mesidor has different projections worth noting

Kiper's big board does not place Mesidor in the first round overall, but he has consistently projected him to go somewhere on Day 1. Miller has Mesidor going 23rd to Philadelphia, and Yates is higher on him, slotting him 15th to Tampa Bay.

In Kiper's defensive end rankings, Bain is first and Mesidor is fourth. Yates places Bain third and Mesidor fourth at edge.

Mesidor logged 12.5 sacks, 58 pressures and a team-high 17.5 tackles for loss last season.

Miami has multiple players to watch outside of Day 1

Kiper's position rankings list Carson Beck as his No. 3 quarterback and Keionte Scott as his No. 9 cornerback. Miller's seven-round mock has Scott going 45th overall to Baltimore, Beck 65th to Arizona, Anez Cooper 110th to Cincinnati, Jakobe Thomas 121st to Pittsburgh, CJ Daniels 208th to Las Vegas and Markel Bell 215th to Atlanta. Yates' two-round mock, on the other hand, does not include any other Hurricanes beyond Bain, Mauigoa and Mesidor.
