You knew Louisville was going to come into Hard Rock Stadium ready to play. And for the first 10 minutes, it was all Cardinals.
But Miami has since responded with a short touchdown run by Mark Fletcher and a 27-yard field goal from Carter Davis to make the halftime score 14-10. The Hurricanes have trailed for 23:55 of this game, almost three times longer than their combined minutes trailing in the first five games.
โCarson Beck has thrown two interceptions in the first half, but he's also been able to beat the Cardinals' stellar pass defense on a couple of deep balls, including this 39-yarder that led to the first Miami touchdown.

โThe first quarter had a little bit of everything, including a fake field goal that Louisville successfully converted that led to a short touchdown run from quarterback Miller Moss and a 7-0 lead. Running back Isaac Brown, who is from the Miami area (Homestead) had two big runs on the drive.
After the Hurricanes went three-and-out, Moss orchestrated a quick four-play scoring drive that ended with a 35-yard catch-and-run by Chris Bell and a 14-0 lead.
Miami settled things down after that and the Hurricanes' defense tightened up. The offense has gotten big plays from Toney, both the 39-yard catch and a 61-yard catch-and-run on a screen that led to the field goal. Beck, however, has ended two other drives prematurely with interceptions.
Blue-chip RB target is at the Rock
โMiami's top target at running back, Derrek Cooper, is in attendance for tonight's game. It's the second or third time he's attended a Hurricanes game this season. Cooper's high school team, Chaminade-Madonna, is on a bye this week after beating Blanche Ely 60-0 in a make-up game on Monday night.

Cooper has been committed to Texas since July 20 and took his official visit to Austin on September 20, but Miami has been aggressively recruiting Cooper for months and continue to be the biggest competition to flip the prospect before he finalizes his decision during the Early Signing Period in December.
