Keelan Marion led Miami with seven receptions for 96 yards on Saturday in a 41-7 win over North Carolina State. It was the third consecutive game that Marion had at least 77 yards receiving. Marion had five receptions for 77 yards in the loss at SMU two weeks ago and three catches for 116 yards and a touchdown last week versus Syracuse.

In the first seven games of the season, Marion was primarily a secondary receiver to C.J. Daniels and Malachi Toney, who have been the top targets for quarterback Carson Beck in 2025. Marion had 11 receptions for 158 yards with no touchdowns through the first eight games of 2025.

Over half of Marion's numbers through the first seven games this season were against South Florida, with six receptions for 81 yards. Marion had three receptions on Saturday that were for at least 18 yards. Four of Marion's seven receptions on Saturday went for four downs.

Marion now has 20 receptions for first downs this season, 14 for 50 or more and five for 25 or more yards. Overall, Marion has 33 receptions for 469 yards and one TD in 2025. Marion also has seven kick returns for 167 yards in 2025.

Saturday was arguably the most productive game for Marion. The seven receptions for his Miami high and 96 receiving second only to the 116 against Syracuse last week. Marion produced as Miami played against two of the worst pass defenses in the ACC in the last three weeks.

SMU is last in the ACC, allowing 298.6 passing yards per game, NC State is 16th, permitting 292.4 passing YPG and Syracuse is 13th with opponents posting 267.0. It will get a bit more difficult for the Miami pass offense against Virginia Tech next, eighth in the ACC in pass defense and Pittsburgh in two weeks, 10th in the conference.
