UPDATE: In some great news from Holly Rowe, Toney was checked out in the medical tent and he was cleared of a concussion. He only missed a handful of plays and is back in action.

There are a lot of worried Miami football fans right now and understandably so. In the first quarter of Miami football vs. Ole Miss, standout freshman wideout Malachi Toney went down after taking a VICIOUS hit. He was able to hang on to the ball thrown by Carson Beck, but he went straight to the tent.

Originally, targeting was called, but after a review, it was deemed that it was a clean hit and no ejection was posted. Miami fans are furious with that call, but the concern here is on Toney, who was clearly shaken up. Him missing any time for the Canes in this one is not ideal for Mario Cristobal.

Toney has been such a huge piece of the puzzle for Miami throughout the Playoff. No one has forgotten about his redemption story in the first-round upset on the road against Texas A&M. He was in tears after a 4th-quarter fumble, which was rough to see.

However, he ended up posting the game-winning touchdown in that game, which made everyone forget about his turnover. As we mentioned above, ESPN's Rowe provided fans with the news they were hoping for, with Toney healthy and not concussed from the early hit.

Miami is dreaming of not only reaching the CFP title game, but also winning it all. In order for that to happen, everyone will need to be at their best, with the long list of course including Toney. Hearts dropped for a few minutes, but he's ready to rock and remind everyone of how electric he can be with the ball in his hands.
