The Miami Hurricanes may not have ended their season hoisting the National Championship trophy, but there are still a lot of great things to take away from this season. The Hurricanes, who almost didn't even make the College Football Playoff, were able to take down some heavy hitters in the playoff and only came short of six points of winning it all in their home stadium.
There are so many players that could be highlighted during this run by the Hurricanes, but none bigger than freshman wide receiver Malachi Toney. The Miami native had his pick of programs coming out of high school, including Ohio State, which is known for producing some very elite receivers. Instead, he chose to stay home with the Hurricanes.
Toney was the top receiver for the Hurricanes this season, many times being a lifeline for quarterback Carson Beck. He certainly made his mark on the National Championship game with a touchdown and some key big plays.
Of course, with the loss, the transfer rumors for Toney are flying, but his mom is making it clear that Toney is happy right where he is.
Don't get it twisted were home😴

A fan on X (formerly known as Twitter) reposted a photo of Toney on his official visit to Ohio State before he committed to Miami out of high school. The caption of the photo was telling Toney he knew what he needed to do, and he needed to come "home" to Ohio State.
Toney's mom was quick to respond for her son, making it clear that the rumors of his transfer are completely bogus.
"Don't get it twisted, we're home," Toney's mom, Statravia Toney, said.
Can Miami players still enter the Transfer Portal with it officially closed?
The Transfer Portal officially closed on Friday, January 16, but for both Indiana and Miami, now that their seasons are officially over, they will have a few days to make decisions on whether or not they want to enter the portal.
Neither team lost a player to the portal while they were preparing for the National Championship, but now players will have a chance to make that decision. Indiana has already lost backup quarterback Alberton Mendoza to the portal, and Miami awaits to see who will choose to move elsewhere next season.
