When prospects commit to Miami in the 2026 class, they have been locked in. Three-star cornerback Ksani Jiles who is originally from Inglewood, California and plays at IMG Academy in Bradenton is the only de-commit in the 2026 Miami class.
The other three classes under Mario Cristobal during a full recruiting cycle at Miami have had at least three de-commits. Five-star defensive lineman Armondo Blount, who signed with Miami in 2024, was one of the decommits in that class.
Jiles was one of the earliest commits in the 2026 Miami class when he committed in May 2023. Miami maintained the commitment from Jiles until he decommitted in February. Washington earned the commitment from Jiles in March and he took an official visit to Seattle in June.
Blount originally committed to Miami in September 2023, decommited and committed to Florida State that October before flipping to the Hurricanes during the Early National Signing Period in December. Blount played in eight games as a freshman in 2024 with two tackles.
In addition to Jiles being the only decommit in the 2026 Miami class, the Hurricanes have also flipped five players in the 2026 class. That is an exceptionally high ratio of flips to decommits. The 2026 Miami class is currently seventh in the 247 Sports composite rankings.
Miami could have some more decommits in the 2026 class. The aggressive nature of how Miami recruits under Mario Cristobal results in some decommits. Conversely, Miami always flips players late in the recruiting cycle. Miami has flipped players from Ohio State frequently under Cristobal.
Four-star running back Mark Fletcher in the 2023 class and five-star defensive lineman Justin Scott and four-star RB Jordan Lyle in 2024 flipped from Ohio State to Miami late in the recruiting cycle. There are several uncommitted 2026 recruits Miami is pursuing that could push the Hurricanes into a top five 2026 class.
