Miami head coach Mario Cristobal said he expects complete lunacy for the Hurricanes' eight home games at Hard Rock Stadium this season. Miami opens the season with home games versus Notre Dame, Bethune-Cookman, South Florida and Florida.
Louisville and Stanford are at Hard Rock Stadium in October before Miami hosts Syracuse and North Carolina State in November. The Notre Dame and Florida games should have complete and utter lunacy, as Cristobal mentioned and in his words, cause a ruckus.
Miami beat Florida 21-16 in 2013 in the last game they played each other at Hard Rock Stadium. The Hurricanes beat the Gators 41-17 in Gainesville in 2024. Miami had one of the most memorable wins in program history in 2017 with a 41-8 win over Notre Dame the last time they played.
After Miami had a 10-3 2024 season that fell short of their goals to make the ACC Championship game and the College Football Playoff, Hurricanes fans should be ready for more in 2025. Miami has not hosted Florida and Notre Dame in the same season since 1987.
"What I expect from our fans as we open the season, for all those games, complete and utter lunacy in that stadium. To make it as loud and as ruckus of an environment as it can be. Because I've experienced it both as a player and as a coach and like you mentioned, man, when that place is rocking, it's hard to match, so I'm looking forward to giving them a lot to cheer for."Miami head coach Mario Cristobal
The Hurricanes opened the 1987 season with a 31-4 win over the Gators and finished the regular season with a 24-0 win over the Fighting Irish on their way to a 12-0 record and the only national championship under Jimmy Johnson.
The 2025 Miami non-conference schedule is its best and most anticipated in recent memory. Miami can set the foundation for a College Football Playoff run with a win versus Notre Dame. Notre Dame at Miami is scheduled for a 7:30 PM kickoff. The nighttime kickoff should create the lunacy and ruckus expected by Cristobal.
The 2025 season is an important one for Miami to build on the momentum from the 9-0 start in 2024. Making the ACC Championship Game and the College Football Playoff are once again realistic goals. Miami fell one game short of those goals in 2024 when they lost at Syracuse in the final regular season game.
