During an appearance on ESPN Get Up with Mike Greenberg, NFL Draft guru Mel Kiper Jr. projects Miami quarterback Carson Beck as a day two or early day three pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. Kiper said that Beck could secure being the fourth or fifth QB selected in the 2026 NFL Draft with a big night in the National Championship.
Beck has been exceptional as Miami won the last four games of the regular season and their three College Football Playoff games. Beck has completed 74.4 percent of his pass attempts for 1,634 yards, 15 touchdowns and two interceptions and ran for the game-winning score in the Fiesta Bowl CFP semifinal to beat Mississippi.
Kiper Jr. mentioned the 23 interceptions that Beck has thrown over the past two seasons. Beck threw 12 interceptions in his last season at Georgia in 2024 and nine in the first eight Miami games in 2025. Beck threw four interceptions in a 24-21 Miami loss to Louisville for the first defeat by the Hurricanes in 2025.
Beck and Miami will play against an Indiana defense 23rd nationally, allowing 185.9 passing yards per game, 12th with a 112.31 defensive passer rating, 72nd with opposing quarterbacks completing 62.2 percent of their pass attempts, seventh with 18 interceptions and second allowing nine TDs.

"It could give him that fourth, fifth quarterback spot guaranteed...late day two, early day three type. He's got to cut down on those interceptions. Twenty-three interceptions over the past two years. But this past year...his best year overall...He's a guy I think I can be a career backup in the NFL. I'd say late day two, early day three for him. "ESPN NFL Draft expert Mel Kiper Jr.
Carson Beck performs at a high level in the biggest games
Beck has proven he can perform at a level in big games during wins over Notre Dame, Florida and Florida State during the regular season and during the three CFP victories. When Miami needed to win four consecutive games to finish the regular season and earn a CFP berth, Beck was also exceptional.
Beck threw nine TDs without an interception in wins over Syracuse, North Carolina State and Virginia Tech during the first three games of the seven-game win streak entering the National Championship Game. Beck can diminish any remaining doubters and significantly improve his draft stock with a big night in the National Championship Game.
